Learn how the first Chinese Americans in California contributed to the state’s development as an agricultural and economic powerhouse. From establishing the shrimp and abalone industries in Monterey to inventing a technique to find gold at the bottom of the Trinity River, Chinese have fostered the early development of California as a tycoon of industry and progressive thinking.
